Basicly hes pissed how he got thrown back so hard. He was thinking about quitting dota since his mmr only was 3,3k and therefore he has to deal with the biggest tards.

He didn't say that he would quit, but more so that hes thinking about it. I do think hes just on vacation or something.

I dont get how he was so shocked that his MM was low..........the fact that he was above 2k was the shocking part to me.

He said to me on chat that his 3.3k mmr is unreal and + he got some abandoned matches which are counted as loss and he get - rating for those matches.He said valve is retarded useless system for matchmaking and he want to quit dota and no waste more time. After that I didn`t saw him online at steam even once..

Sad, he was one of the people who wanted the rating system the most. I guess he realizes now why Valve was hesistant to implement such a thing.

I knew he was full of shit when I told him nothing good will come out of visible ratings except alot of bitching. The system could be perfect(not saying it is) and delusional people(90% of the community) would still bitch and moan

he is only playing position 5, cannt expect more rating like that. life is unfair for supports. by his knowledge he is surely @4500+ but he lacks execution

execution is much more important that game knowledge which is why his MM is so low when he can not execute anything......

I am pretty sure that he could play 4500+ with no problem.

So what he has low MMR? He has solid game knowledge and is the only one who actually watch random people's replays to give them an objective opinion about what went wrong instead of the standard "I got matched with retards". Personally I don't know anyone else with this kind of patience, at least not for games.

I have no problem with relentless I just find it funny he was one of the people saying "MM will help people know where they are at and help them improve" and once he saw this MM he was like "FUCK VOLVO BROKEN GAME PC IM OUT"

Well I don't see why he would quit. I have a MMR of 2900 which isn't good but it doesn't really impact on whether I play the game or not. If you're playing for the game and not for your ego, your MMR shouldn't matter. I'm only playing ranked to not get matched up with 5 wins players. (I've had 3 on my team before, and although my MMR is pretty bad, 3 players below 5 wins is a bit weird. This was before wins were hidden on profiles.)

Although I have to say it's very hard to improve your MMR if you weren't that good when you started. From when your ranking becomes visible, your rating is basically your winrate, since it's always ±20-30. Too bad I failed too many games early on when I would earn/lose more points, which set me at a lower point. And since you are only a fifth of your team you can't expect that winrate to be high (unless you spam Abaddon/Death Prophet/Lich/Veno/Whatever, but that's boring, and I don't want to play a boring game).

Basically, why do people care so much about ranking?
