As a slark you can switch to farming jungle from lvl 6 without much trouble, just make sure you switch your PT to save mana when using Dark Pact. Seek for free lines, creep waves or simply jungle until you feel strong enough to fight
Same works for pl, though he's a strong laning hero with potential to easily catch enemies on their mistakes and make turnarounds with support, dealing huge amount of damage with Q and E buffs. And PL with ags is a farm machine 800 gpm without much trouble
Also learn to hold the creeps close to your tower, lear re-aggro, learn how to pool creeps on small/big camp, that'll make you line stage way way easier
Thank you very much for the tips. as Slark, do I have to always build "magic wand"? whenever I see high rank players playing slark they build magic wand regarding the enemy lineup.
so overall is it ok to have a few LH in annoying lanes until level 6? (I'd like to know how would you build your items early against BB-Sky and lineup against them)
You get a wand/stick when enemy heroes are considered to use abilities quiet often - that would give you extra survivability and allows hits exchange. Against BB sky I'd get a stick on my first itembuild, 6 tangoes and some stats on what's left, get raindrops as soon as they appear in the shop, ask support to pull creeps as often as possible or if he can't, would do it myself. BB and sky can't really burst you down till lvl 5, so you're quiet safe under your tower and your and your support task is to make sure waves don't meet far from there - block enemy neutral camp, deblock yours and pull waves - thus you'll get levels faster than your enemy.
Also there's always a way to swap lines with your hardlane, but not always working
you can always watch some pro dota, they often have tough match-ups there, maybe not these exact heroes, but generally you'll see how they get out of trouble here and there. Lots to learn from there, even despite pro scene is far from what it used to be
BB and Sky are both notorious spell spammers... You need to have a Stick/Wand here.
But in general, when you are getting really high pressure on your lane, you should only go for the last hits when the lane is under your tower and go hit a jungle camp in between. The worst thing you can do is just "idle" near your tower and not hit the lane creeps and wait for the wave to push into you. This is a game of action and idling is the worst thing you can do. You should be pretty much always moving towards something with a goal in mind. Joining a fight, farming the jungle, pushing a lane, going for a gank etc.
You need to gather resources to accelerate your game. One way or the other. The 100 gold per minute thing is not going to work in your favor ever.

hi. I played this game tonight as slark. my hard sup was Bane. I played against BB and Sky. whenever I came to hit units, I'd take damage.
I built magic wand but still not enough. I'd very much like to know what you'd do in such situations as fragile melee carrys like Am,Slark,PL.
I often have this problem with melee carrys. pls help how to build or lane against them (is it ok not to hit units at all??)
