If you are expecting me to write a thesis about this too then PSYCH im too low mmr to comment about 4k games
is it even possible for u to just play casually at this point seems like its eating too much shit off you for you to bother playing even semi seriously at this point
Just my 2 cents:
1. Have a good behavior score (at least 9000)
2. Be ready to play for the team and be ready to play roles you are not comfortable with
3. Learn to be versatile and to follow meta. Dedicate and actually learn things you are bad at.
4. Accept that unless you dedicate a lot of time to Dota, at this point getting past high 4k isn't something everyone is capable of.
@vertoxity behavior score is a joke I've 5.8k BS yet playing with better teammates compared to 8k-9k BS
@ Trbio
With all due respect sir, I disagree.
Behavior score matters. You don't want to know the hell in 3k and 4k behavior score aka C grade.
The moment I stepped out of C and got C+ (5k flat behavior score now) I started getting games in which people try to win.
Yes, they rage, flame regardless, but the quality of the game improved drastically.
I went from 4.3k to 3.6k in calibration games due to low behavior score and pretty much losing all my games. After getting out of low behavior score games started to look like Dota 2 finally.
Not to mention that I don't spend nearly as much time on Dota 2 as I did in the past, so grinding the behavior score isn't easy.
I've seen many examples of people having low behavior score and struggling to get past certain MMR even tho they are clearly ahead of their bracket.
To be clear, I don't think that low behavior score players are there for no reason, but if you are an asshole, try fixing your atttidude and it might help more than you think.
Someone also asked Arin does he plays casually or is he actively trying to improve. This is the big question for anyone to answer.
If you're playing casually and hoping that miracles will happen, you will not grind much of a mmr if at all. Everytime I get to mid to high 4k on my own, I struggle, a lot.
Regardless of what anyone says, mid and high 4k average games aren't easy for someone who's not 6k+ or high 5000. People can play there. And, unless you actually want to improve and move past that, you will get stuck there pretty much forever.
Many examples included, btw:
BogiDoto is one of them
Theres no such thing as mmr hell. From time to time there are a few unwinable games, but anyone who's good will climb with time. Forced 50% win rate and shit like that is just excuse for shitty, lazy players who can't admit they suck and they don't to anything in order to improve.

I think he's aware of that.
every mmr is mmr hell but some point around mid 6k where u constantly get filled into way higher avg games to be reminded that ure shit
^
I wish I could get to 6k mmr but I think even if I did i'd literally quit life, because I love dota so much... maybe it's better this way, at least I can be shit and kinda of still be responsible for life activities
"every mmr is mmr hell"
ill get some of a look of those link i guess later on after i not feeling tired or have nothing to do
Yo vertoxity then explain to me how come I usually gain MMR when my behavior score is low(still showing normal tho)?
It's easier to gain mmr vs tiltzors because they tend to do mistakes because they're hotheaded.
It might work out for me but not for a few others so it's kinda subjective, personality-related thing.
@ Tribo
Still. 5.8k-6k is normal behavior score, it's not grade C or below. But I guess it just depends on a person. I'm a guy who's expecting whole team to work together and win. I'm not good at playing mindgames or trying to tilt enemies just so i can win.
My point is, what's working for you could be that it's working for some particular reason. Different player, different style of playing.
maybe you should try baiting us like those other threads lol
alright i looked to those links and i cant really see the name/what hero you are using,im assuming necro?,so i can't really indentify the problems from just looking
idk if i qualified to give advices tho since i still lose in my 4k smurf(still at 4,2k peak 4150 something atm) although i think it has a good winrate even tho i uses normal heroes like mk/ember and firstpick them mid if someone wanted to contest me mid
i guess i can watch one replay of your choosing, give me a match id and ill try to check your mistakes
btw im pretty much a earlygame player so i might not be able to analyze a midgame or lategame situation of the replay/match or give a good answer
i'll attempt to respond to most of the posts sometime tomorrow
sorry
also are you genuinely trying to get better at the game or just casually bitching?
this is a serious thread, not a rant
i feel like nothing i try to do matters and every game is left in hands of one of my teammates and whether they decide to ruin or not
i actually almost feel that when i started to spam ember/mk at smurf and feel i cant win using these kinds of heroes but now i can destroy people and my losses seems to be my own fault too
so dw,you can do it
i'm russian? o my

maybe if i act stupid enough, i'll get genuine help to get me out of 4k? people seem to acknowledge those kinds of threads far more than legit ones
i am open to constructive criticism and telling me what could i do better in those games and what was the winning move for me to do
there's no way that i could get bad teammates 5 times in a row, it must be me
this kind of trend is happening to me through
past 3-4 yearsthis entire week but i won't bother ppl with linking like 20 matches (noone would look at them anyway including me)
