I dont like it that much, I think once you get lvl 20 talent you dont need much in terms of defensive itemizations, you simply blink in from super far away and kill someone. My preference is carry with BF - Diffu - Nullifier. Have those 3 items by lvl 20 and you blinkstrike- smoke+null+diffu into ulti and most things tend to die

aeon disk is good on any hero (situationally)

waga takes over a year or 2 hiatus only to respond to "aeon disk riki"

only 2 possible defensive items i can think of, linkens and manta, that might be needed, even then sounds supe situational

if you play riki, and you got countered so badly...eg. Zeus, skywrath, Slardar (blink+stun+corrsive+bash) can help you sustain.

If you play vs warlock or veno (Damage over time heroes) it's a must buy on Riki, block about 200-400 damage for 3000 gold, which isn't possible for any other item except for triple stout shield. Not so good vs heroes like shaman or lion, with good disable and burst, because it can only nullify an ult, but any skilled lion can not press r, while there is nothing veno or warlock can do vs an aeon disk, bcs it counters them
