Yeah my friends have same problem as you and no its not their party we play dota 2 together since forever so our party mmr is actualy the same, why its that low its another story we tend to play some dodgy combos that dont work but are fun to play!
one is legend 4 with 3200 mmr other is ancient 0 like you just he has 3600 mmr after solo calibration, both their medals are not near to their MMR so they wont see star upgrade for quite some time. We talked about this just yesterday how this new medal system is trash. You can even see their old MMR both loss 500-700 mmr in the calibration for some reason even tho they had good winrate like you.

What is your party mmr ? Is it calibrated and higher than your solo ?
It should be the only answer to that. Since I cant believe you had Ancient 0 with 3200 Solo. Im 4300 with Ancient 1 right now.
He specifically said he didnt calibrated party plus i linked you my friends account who has 3600 solo and ancient badge, so this issue is real and Valve could shed some light on their obscure matchmaking system... So far i can tell this is still in beta, from all my friends im only one who got badge that is related to their current MMR...
Also my friend is getting matched with ancients and not legends as he should according to his solo MMR and i can bet my life that same situation is with OP too! So why would system match you acording to your badge and not actual mmr? Now thats a real question?

My whole team on losing streaks, while enemy on wining streaks. Is that balance ? Matchmaking used to be fine. Now its a loterry.
It says on your profile that your solo mmr was 5.7k but that was updated a year and a half ago. How the hell are you getting matched in normal/high skill games. What was your mmr before the new medal system came out?

I completly agree matchmaking is bonkers, look at this shit that just happen to me, how is this fair? If i was in the opposite team i would seriously complain. I queued with my Ancient friend and i got my usual solo queue lineup versus me + 1 ancient with me?
I'd be happy if I lose to players way above my level. You learn a lot from playing with high level players.
yeah i waas 5.7 on 2016 but after this i was left the game for a lot of months and after it i down my skill falling to 4k, but now idc if im a Ancient Trash, idk why but im playing with other acc atm
Err what? You're 5.7k solo and playing ranked solo queue in normal skill? (Even before the medal update?) Like Purge had less than you like 5400 or something and he got Divine 4.
I'm baffled.
Lol he is one of those that valve took away lots of mmr. My Guess is it's because your party is still 4k+. That's usually the reason. Even if you haven't calibrated it will show your party medal

Hello everyone, yesterday I finished calibrating my account and received the Ancient 0 medal, I must mention that I won 8/10 games with 700opm + and playing with different heroes in each game, well the problem is that although I am Ancient they gave me 3200 of mmr alone, today I won another 8 games (3400) and I do not get the stars, I do not know exactly how this works but it is very frustrating to win so much and not be able to raise the stars, should I send a ticket? because I would not like to spend my time if I do not raise the medal, basically they gave me an Ancient medal but the mmr behind that is too low and no matter how much I win, it does not raise me stars, by the way I do not calibrate the group.
