Its not accurate. I am now ancient [0] just two days ago after reaching 4310 solo mmr. My friend on the other hand, became ancient on 4153 solo mmr.
Same problem, I also want to get to legend, for the "respect". For some stupid reason a lot of people in my games go "look a retard archon 5, archon noob" when they are legend... Archon 5 is 3K, all of Legend is 3K, we're all 3K scrubs together, pls shut up. Lol.
I think there is some difference between archon and legend. for example If you collect random archon (0) team vs random Legend (1) team, I dont think Archon team would have a chance. Just my opinion. But ofcourse Archon 5 and Legend 1 not so much difference.
What position 4 heroes could I spam to go from 3.1k to 3.3k? Or even position 5. I wanted to try shaman and bane.
You should try some heroes you feel comfortable with. I like spirit breaker (creates a lot of space). Shadow shaman is also good option for pushing lanes and twrs.
The whole badge system is a bad joke. Archon 5 should be roughly 3200 MMR and Legend 1 Should be 3500. Difference is obviously small.
Not to mention Archons randomly get promoted to Legend 3-5 after one game for some reason.
Same prob with me.. after 10 calibration games i end up 3400mmr but i got Archon 5.. totally shit
well if its hard, then youre where you belong.
play to improve, not to gain ranks. mmr will raise automatically if youre better than the other players in your bracket
a good wife will always encourage you to work for your dreams and she will support your decisions if you really think youre doing the right thing

After calibrated , i got 3028 with Archon 5 .
According to medal chart , i will get only Archon 3 .
Legend 0 is 3360 and so i need to win 300 mmr ?
But i still need to play my 6 more TBD .
