So basically won't you lose a star?, and what if you just receive a new +1 star (i.e 2star herald now from 1) and you lose a game after that, will it takes you to have 7 wins to get another star?

you need 6-7 victories more then loses from the moment you got your last start.... you lose 10 and win 17 then you get a star ...or you win 6-7 in row and it is a star ...if you lose 25 games then you need to win 32 ..that is when it comes to solo gaming not sure about party how it impacts ..and you do not lose stars or medals ..for example you lose 14 games in row you will not lose 2 stars you just need to win 21 games to get one more but when you are on losing streak you gonna get guys who are lower medals and stars then you... and they are probably also on losing streak or on wining from 2-3 stars less then you ..hope this answers all posible questions ...

well i started after the calibration as crusader 1 and keep lose n win n lose more n win lose win lose..which makes my mmr just remain as it..but just now i got crusader 2. how does the system really works

Bosnian Blade: That is not true. I had 7 wins in a row and I didnt get any star. TBH my record since 05/12/2017 is 28 wins 16 losses - no single star achieved!

Same as old mm. If you win a game vs higher ranks you get more points. He also may have calibrated right on the edge of ranking up

Earning star is a bit strange.. I have mine started as no star then after winning 5 consecutive games dota gave me 4 stars. After another 2 lost and 3 won that followed earned another star.. So weird indeed..

medals are there to display your highest mmr rank during each season
mmr is still the same tho, only your max mmr is displayed by your seasonal medals

there are exceptions to the above link but the estimate is on point

I managed to get to Guardian 5 at 700 mmr. It probably uses metrics, rather than wins/losses.

Go to STATS tab and you will see your party mmr and solo mmr rank. The badge is just too make you proud.
