yeah, someone on reddit plotted it out with like 200 data points and this is what they came up with. from what i've seen it looks pretty accurate.
New MMR is deflated in real terms relative to previous MMR values, so you mustn't give a shit.
not unreasonable at all. if he is upper 2k low 3k thats the range of archon and those mmr's are still narmal skill.

basically what is being calibrated is just the Medal... but not your actuall goddamn mmr... so valve just made a retard update on the game which is nothing to hype on lol super sh****t ahahahaha...
since my id is new and tbd max is 3.5k..i play so hard with many thrower in ranked and get 4.6k mmr from 3.5k which is max tbd.. the new 707 patch reset my mmr back, so i play 10 match tbd with 7 win 3 lost..and get 3.5k mmr again..they didnt fix the new id calibration..pls make it fair valve..u burden us as dota player..
I was 3.3k before the medal shit and stopped playing dota for a while so when I calibrated its like im a 1k fucktard and got 2972 which was archon 3 then played a couple of games then got archon 4 at 3060

i played support heroes for about 9 games and 1 game played carry, lose 6 of 10 - 3 of those getting from trash teammates wanna be carry, got archon 3, should i cry or laugh :() - my mmrs before always got stuck in 2k9-3k1.
Im archon 1. I played a lot as carry in my calibration stage. Got gpms over 600 every games and even 1k on alche. Won 8 times and lost about 2. Still got archon 1. But my mmr # is 2.7k on dota buff
the medal is also based on your party mmr not just solo so its really unrealistic i think to judge it entirely on yoru solo mmr value??
Nothing changed on rank. Valve just replace numbers with stars. My old mmr is @ 2k and ended my calibration on 9-1 still got crusader 2. Still at 2k. Check your exact MMR at Profile > Stats
^^ i also notice it, when i check my stats, the numbers are still there, they're just labeling your mmr on a medal.
My mmr is only going up by like 10-13 per match I hope it’s just lagging behind because I’ve won several in a row .
ok after my experience , i think its just the same old mmr in a new system , theres no actual new rating system, that rates skills . i was 1.4k before and ended up ( atleast for party now ) at exactly 1.4k which is .

u can see my last 10 ranked matches as a party. first match was in high skill and then others were normal and at last i ended up with my old mmr, so did my friends also . FeelsBad getting Jebaited by valve
I calibrated around 3200 as archon 4, and then I lost 2 games, dropped to 3100 mmr.
after that I won a single game as techies and my medal rose intantly into archon 5, with just +-3100 mmr
1. it is possible to get new medal. i calibrated with legend 0 and now i am having legend 2.
2. your old mmr will affect medal but the medal will be based on your performance in 10 games + old mmr. if u are a 3k player, you can possibly get ancient 1, not divine. same thing happens, a 4k can be in legend 0 after his performance is bad. ex: if you are a carry, the system will see your last hits, denies, damage, building damage, gpm, xpm, etc... or if you are a support, it will check your mana usage, damage, wards, last hits, healing, etc...
3. maybe consider that you are playing your roles INCORRENTLY if u think the system isnt correct. it happens. i was a shitty 1k players, after 1 years, i ended up in 3k and now im playing in legend 2. maybe change the way you play instead of crying. get over it!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi I calibrated my party 1st before doing solo which was 2.7k mmr before and i got Archon 2 medal,
when I calibrated my solo which was 3.7k mmr, when I finished solo q, it says 'Congratulations U have reach Legend 1'
then my medal changed from Archon 2 to Legend 1 instantly,
So whoever do things like me which calibrate my lower party mmr 1st its okay bcs it will update once u got the solo q.

Certain tiers are based on solo rank only like ancient and divine,medals of legends and below ranks are based on your higher mmr(solo or party)
I just lost MMR, 545 down to about 407 and I gained a medal rank Crusader 1 to Crusader 2.
What gives?
After I calibrated started losing a lot of games (Rustiness a bit, but not only), so, for example in the last week I lost 19 games and won 9, now tho, here's something intresting: Yesterday I won 2 long ass games (My performance was pretty fucking good, gosu.ai showed almost perfect stats) and I ranked up from Legend 4 to Legend 5 while being nowhere near the estimated MMR needed for that medal (the estimated is 4100, I calibrated at 3.9 and fell to 3.7, then won those two games, so still around 3.7-3.8), so it seems to be possible to rankup not only by MMR which would be pretty fucking big if true.
