If you know how to play a hero well, it doesn't matter if you play supp or core.
For all we might know, the recallibration that volvo meant might be just like how the seasonal mmr in battle passes work. You'll probably get a recallibrated mmr depending on your ranked mmr and hidden mmr, so your recent normal matches might be able to actually affect your ranked callibrations now.
However, I don't really know what they might actually implement so I'm just gonna stick to my ideas for it for now.
So, for supp players that play a lot party rmm will our solo medal be boosted too or will there be solo and party medals as well? I feel kinda sad now.
I just have to say. I just finished my 5th calibration match. So far all i've run into since the start of this crapfest is feeder after feeder on my team. As a result: 5 games that we would have won were lost due to feeders. What the hell is valve thinking with this crap. They need to institute an IP block option for people who don't want to play with foreign feeders and raging trolls.
I think it works the same way as before
When you go to your profile and check your stats
You can see your MMR at the upper right corner
It still will change if you lose or win
So conclusion is the MMR stay the same
Its just we have re-calibration every season and medals to show off.... or ashame of
P.S. i lost 7 calibration games but actually got higher MMR than i was before re-calibrating
So far so good for me: 6 matches, 4 won 2 lost. MMR prior to new system: 3901. Right now it is 3 match in row that are in ancient tier majority. I only hope I am lucky for the next 4 matches since support Bounty hunter can't do much during late game.
Im core-suppport. Im still unaware on the basis of new mmr update. When i support, i always maintain my 10/10 supporting, 8/10 fighting and my statistics in supporting on my profile is always at peak. but my gpm is just playing between 350+ and 400- 'cause i am not a last-hitter type, i only just deny the creeps and i give all the enemy-creeps to the carries. , i dont know what will be my medal after 10 games. for now i have 2 wins and i need 8 games to complete my tbd.
so far won 8 and lost 1, just one match left... always hard-sup. Can you guys guess the medal/mmr ? im kinda nervous lol
i've always been on 2.5k mmr (toxic teammates in south america servers..impossible to level it up) I wanna get outta there, do you think i'll get more than that?
Does anyone know the answer to this:
Lets just say I calibrated at Crusader with 1 star (estimated 1820 MMR) if I lost 100 games in a row - would I then need to win like 107ish games to get to Crusader 2 star? Or would i basically just need to win like the 7 in a row to gain a rank. I understand your medal wont drop below the highest medal you have earned, but will the basic rules of MMR still hold true that you need to win more than you lose to climb up in medal rank?
Okay, I think I get it.
I hated the system, I calibrated (the first time) a long time ago when I was new and got like below 2k. I therefore hate playing ranked, it's impossible to get over to 2k. 6k+ games, and I ain't my MMR bro.
I got Guardian 4 as party MEDAL? What will it say when I get my solo medal? And what does Guardian 4 even stand for (in numbers).
I don't know if this has happened to other people, but I played 10 games after the calibration (3196-Archon 4) lost 5 won 5, and somehow got Archon 5 at 3186 mmr. pretty fucking weird
There will be no accurate mmr towards medals, atleast not for a while. Like the highest is above 5740. but we have 10k players. so divine and the others will shift dramatically according to skill levels over the next month.
But if you bother to read patch notes you would see that solo ranking also makes a bigger impact towrards medals, then laet's say party. It even says below all official mmr charts, that they do not take in to consideration the differance between solo and party. So all mmr charts are ESTIMATES. For now atleast, when the entire community calibrates, it will be way more accurate. BUT your mmr is actually shown. If you go in dota, and click your profile. Go to stats, in the top right corner. It will show your mmr in party and solo. Solo has morre impact on medals than party. Still want the real numbers of how much though.
And How much farm, or how many kills you get really doesn't matter. What matters is the amount of impact you had on the game totally. you can check this on dotabuff. But everything from using lotus orb corrrectly (noone below 3k even buys this item.. To where you click on mini map to stay aware. The using of smoke, and a bunch of other factors matters. Because you can win a game with 0 kills, aslong as you understand it's a game about buildings. Enemy hero's, are just strong creeps.
I first calibrated my pt mmr 3,080 Archon[4], my current solo mmr is around 2,200 not yet calibrated. Will the medal increase or it will change to Crusader[4] ???
The calibrate is obviously bugged. I played 4 ranked solo ONLY and now it shows my medal. Plus I getting my solo medal somehow reset my team medal. Also the only 4 calibrating game I got absolutely rubbish teammates.
I really can't agree to this. I calibrated my account a few days ago and got Crusader w/ 0 medals. Played few games after that winning 1 and losing more. And then, last night I was playing one game as Nature's Prophet. I was performing like what I think a Nature's Prophet should do--push, ward, support, push. The game ended and I have the following stats 10/5/15 KDA, 29.0k NET, 522/5 LH, 739 GPM, 638 XPM, 37.8k DMG, 0 HEAL, and 4.9k BLD (http://prntscr.com/hn8rwa)--I now have Archon w/ 0 medals.
Bug? I don't think so. But what could be a good explanation to this? Enlighten me please. Thank you!
When the new ranking system comes? They said 2 weeks after release, so it should be there all ready?
Gaben taking his tym
wtf is this shit
So does picking hard carry or sup matter in calibartion?

just play your regular games during recalibration. people are thinking too much into this recal thing.
So, for supp players that play a lot party rmm will our solo medal be boosted too or will there be solo and party medals as well? I feel kinda sad now.
Play whatever your higher mmr is. Usually that is solo, then do party for ez stars.
i won 8/10 games and got crusader 3
Wrong, please don’t post if you have no clue
yea im wrong ... just mislead by others post , maybe this link legit? just saw 1 4k get legend 1

1 game i got crusader hello 5k mmr

I've been played 10 rank matches and still didn't get medal. How?
They said calibrate system take 40% from your old solo and 60% from old party and you will start calibrating from that point
I think it works the same way as before

support has different kind of calibrating system such as support item, healing, tower dmg and stuff doesn't really have to be like carry

Keep bumping this thread.
Good shit. Good shit.

^also played 4 games and got calibration... i wonder what happens after the rest of calibrating games

do I get my medal lowered by losing ranked matches?
