Thats $10k/per person for the biggest moneymaker of the year. Good luck living off that if say you are on Hellraisers and might make runs in 1 or 2 lans a year.
That shouldn't be team liquid's problem. If you were to divine the money from 2nd place to 18th you would get almost 7 million. 7 million that liquid gave for free. Maybe valve is being generous so losing teams don't get discouraged?
Do you know how hard it is to qualify for ti?
Top 18 team in the world for that year is a extremely good result.
10k is fuck all
If anything I think it should be more
Probably the reason why newbee went 3-0 they were like pfft whatever, (no I'm not a newbee fan). If they really tried there would've at least been 1 win for the ti4 champions.
Try qualifying for TI before typing that.
It's pretty hard to get through regional qualifiers.
Well maybe if they "get gud" like every player on here says they wouldn't be given such a small amount.
aah lets make it that the 1st place gets 100% and the rest gets nothing. this is the real git gud
Ryuuko, if you can't get past regional qualifiers maybe you shouldn't be going pro.
Alenari when I said "small amount" I was referring to all the above people who says that 10k is fuck all. Its a lot for losing every game.
i cant tell if op is trolling or not at this point
judging from his previous posts, he probably isnt
They get 0.25% of the money. The prizepool is simply too big. Also, you are a retard.
"Judging from my previous posts" my last post was about nyx players who strictly max dagon and nothing else. Yeah you can buy euls and shit but not dagon. Why would I choose to troll that?
Alright, you are clearly trolling, no one can be THAT retarded. So I'll stop.
Don't listen to the bad people, dance in victory as they walk away in their apparent inability to hold onto an argument! You're a champ at this, don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Keep going with your posts :)
I actually thought this was a troll thread till I read the post in detail.
As for Newbee, I actually think they expected LFY to advance to the finals considering how strong they were, which is why they thought they could beat them in the finals as well. Plus, advancing through the winner's bracket and underestimating Liquid might have something to do with it. The shots we got of the players after teamfight replays also showed they were more nervous and tense.
Regardless of who gets 0.25% of whatever money you're wrong, I don't know where you got that number from so it confused me. And "prize pool too big" I'm assuming you mean if all the money that 2nd place to 18th place was divided by half and given to 1st place (roughly 17 million) is 1: subjective 2: Coming first in the international is pretty big achievement for itself and 17 million sounds ideal since people who are on the lower end don't really have to try after winning regional qualifiers.
Didn't mean to offend so many liquid haters, boohoo I said that your favourite teams (who were losers and should get gud) should be paid less. Get over it honestly.
your comment simply childish. it's so hard to even qualify for the main regional qualifier, let alone the TI final. player like iceiceice, mushi who is supposedly one of the best in SEA cant even qualify for the TI final and you say the 17/18th place get too much? that's pathetic sum, that's probably all they can earn in that year. that's why i have been saying, kids, go study. if you think you can earn money playing dota. think again. think if you can be top 20 -30 players in this world. if you can't, better go do something else.
Ryuuko, if you can't get past regional qualifiers maybe you shouldn't be going pro.
WTF?
Do you think pros are only those, who play at TI?
News flash, there are THOUSANDS of players playing in pro series.
Just getting at TI is already an achievement. Those you see at TI are best of the best in the world, not all pro players by a long shot.
I think liquid out drafted newbee pretty badly too. First game newbees draft looked real solid and then they last picked lina. WTF. Anyway.
I'd argue last places don't get enough cash. I'd bump them up to 0.5% and bump 13-16 to .75%, you're only talking 1.5% total across those 6 teams, just drop winners to 42.5%. 9-12th place is the biggest jump, they get triple 13-16, seems kind of weird.
I know a guy, who placed 4th at SL Proseries XVI , he is a 7k pro player. He plays in a team, which you haven't heard of and most likely never will, because it is THAT HARD to get to major tournaments.
You think you get to 7k+ and you're suddenly a well-known pro/whateverthefuck? Fucking no. You're just the same pub fa**ot, but with a very high MMR. There are hundreds of players like that. They never get past very small tournaments, because playing 5x5 CM Dota is much more different to dumpstering pubs and being a good solo player.
Considering someone is really good, boosting accounts, selling premade accounts, coaching and streaming are WAY better ways to earn money by Dota.
Hence why many 6-7k players abandon their main accounts, spawn numerous smurfs and then just sell them for a living.
Ya 10 thousand is not too much fOr big tourney that you spend so much time on . Hell I make a well over 10 thousand a month and my jobs nothing special .
Which is exactly my point, it's not meant to be a lot of money. Hence telling your kids to study is a good idea.
All these liquid haters upset haha, I bet if valve actually went through with my plan these liquid haters would actually protest and break into valve headquarters cuz they don't like it when their favourite teams are bankrupt lmao. If you come 18th place just go get an actual job ROFL.
dont forget they needed to qualify, out of thousands of teams, only 18 are here, all is well deserved.
they get too little. the prize pool is way too top heavy, first place gets almost 11 million , 2nd only 3.
When I agree with the doctor guy is when I know I've found the most retarded person on Earth.
U realize that they got 10k out of 24 million?
That's Jack shit
And if ur bottom 18, it's not like ull be getting much else throughout the year. OP is beyond autism or a troll idk which
Considering someone is really good, boosting accounts, selling premade accounts, coaching and streaming are WAY better ways to earn money by Dota.Rofl. Please, stop.
Selling smurf is not profitable, especially after they put a limit around 3.5k or whatever.
Boosting is around 40 dollars for like 25 fucking games. Around dollar and something per hour. FUcking minimal amount of money.I rather work something outside for 8 dollars then playing dotes for 1 hours.
dota2 is dead streaming game. You have streamers like singsing and bulldog, maybe waga that can actually make living out of it. Rest are not even close, and there are really really good players that dont have even fuckign 400 viewers.
You gotta be pro to make solid living out of this game, thats it.
here it is like with political parties that fail to come into parliament. They still need to get money to survive, but not to much. Dont you think that 10 000 dollars per player is kind of minimum for surviving for team? They still did a good job passing the qualifiers
What I've always wondered is who pays for their transportation, lodging, meals, fees? Does valve put up all the teams who compete? Does valve pay their visa application fees and all of that? If not, that 10k prize probably doesn't even cover your expenses if you're coming from russia or china. Flights cost a lot man plus hotel rooms, food.
ok a quick google revealed they do take care of all that stuff for participating teams. So what I said doesn't even matter.

18th place, $61,720. Divided by 5 people minus taxes. That's like $10,000 per person for LOSING EVERY SINGLE GAME. WTF? Maybe I should get 4 plebs who can atleast get qualified for the next tournament. Losers get wayyyy to much money. I think cut every team from 2nd place to 18th by half and give it all to the 1st place. Fark if I was on Team newbee i'll be like pfft whatever have your 1st place liquid I'm happy with almost 4 million. *starts going down mid and feeding couriers*
Seriously wtf?
