Opendota only parses matches if you have an account (which is free) and if you have visited their site in the past week. If you haven't they stop parsing matches until the next time you visit, but they will only parse new matches unless you specifically request for a match to be parsed.
Ultimately its about how the sites support themselves. Opendota relies on donation and sponsorship while Dotabuff relies on subscribers and advertising.
