I actually think support gyro or magic gyro is as viable as the old build. I agree that this hero is garbage but if you play him for fun, I think the magic build is better, but ofc it's situational
Problem with magic gyro is that you can't hit buildings, and if you can't hit buildings in this meta you better be bringing something good to the table because you are going to catch a terminal disease going high ground. Have never played support gyro so I can't really comment.
Support gyro that spams rockets at the enemy mid is pretty viable and hillariously fun

I tried that build too, skipping maelstrom is a good idea since Aghs Gyro is already a farm machine and Satanic seemingly is the sole item that 100% compliments Gyro. Then it's BKB Rapier
+35 movespeed might just be better btw
Because in late game, a decisive fight is much promising than frequent momentum.
I played him. Satanic and Shadow blade isnt a good item on him but speed and damage is. he still sucks get rekts by slardar, juggernaut, sven and assassins.

This hero is still garbage but if you want to play the old man in a helicopter I have found a build that seems to work decently.
Phase->wand->aquila->raindrop->mask->agha->satanic->luxuries. For talents take hp->damage->cd reduction.
I try not to buy bkb unless absolutely needed vs stuff like OD. Basically you sit in the middle of the fight and deal massive aoe damage with your spells+hits. If they ever try to focus you are very tanky with hp talent+agha+satanic and you should usually be able to pop satanic off. Even if you are stunned the sidegunner will heal you up which is pretty ridiculous. Usually you end up as a hybrid frontliner/damage dealer that's impossible to ignore with barrage spam and your opponents can't really kite with your massive aoe on flak cannon/ulti.
