Wings will win. What's crazy though is how the bracket worked out the second round matchup for the winner will be VP. That's just rough. If you played this tournament 10 times, wings, eg and vp are all probably top 5-6 teams with OG, newbee, DC and maybe LGD. Wings and VP should be meeting in the finals, not sure why valve seeded them like this.
But yes rtz sven never works out for them, he just gets kited to death. Other issue for EG I feel is they don't pick enough play makers. They pick farming pushers like a tri melee lineup with brew and io + ogre vs complexity that first series, that matchup has zero playmakers. I don't remember if storm was banned, but they need to get sumail on shit like storm mid, magnus, invoker, maybe even TA though TA is kind of bad right now. Instead vs complexity he's played invoker once, ursa once (kind of a playmaker I guess?), jug a couple times, alch and medusa. I mean wtf? Those should be arteezy heroes, safe lane farmers, jug just is not the kind of playmaker sumail does well on.
Vs faceless he did TA and OD and rocked it. Give him the tools, magnus, storm and let's see what happens.
Brackets should've been like this (image below). It's just retarded that the group stages actually don't count at all. Logically every team is as good as the other so simple elimination from the start for the group winner is a FUCKING BRAINDEAD APPROACH. What they are doing now is no different than a random draw. Imagine if the fifa world cup was played like the Boston Major, it would get shit on for decades.
Yes I agree, I don't know why they got rid of the upper bracket. The format would be fine if there was a long regular season that affected your seed like in NBA where a team with 60 wins and a top seed gets to play a team with 45 wins and an 8 seed. That's an advantage.
A group stage where you win a couple games and get a 1 seed, then matchup with a really good team who went 1-2 is not consistent and meaningless as you said.
I think they did it this way to try it out and cus there was a lot of hype around the lower bracket TI cus liquid, lgd, secret and navi all went down there and had first round exits. The hype was high even if in retrospect 3 of those teams aren't even at boston...
I think having the upper bracket is cooler too cus you get teams that kind of come out of no where like cdec at TI5 and alliance, even though alliance didn't make a run, watching what was at stake in the group stage was exciting.
vp already played wings, and they won, so it would be boring to see that matchup all over again in the finals. LGD or DC seem like more exciting opponents for VP, once they beat CoL or OG.
however i think the best team to beat vp might be eg after all.
well EG pulls it off! Very good games. I was pulling for wings just so we could get a game 3. EG vs VP is going to be awesome.

I've predicted EG in my compendium maybe bcoz of true sight ep 2. I like the way they play not like the other featured team (FnaticFckMushi). But I also like how Wings play their game, so unorthodox. It's like they are too synchronized and each member is mechanically skilled. Any thoughts guys?
