yes its true, but if you play good you can escape that bracket.

But that will only prevent you FROM calibrating ultra low (Cookie and other high MMR dotabuffers have tried to calibrate as low as possible with weaver 6 boots and other stupid crap and the lowest they got was 3k)
Means that you can still calibrate at 4k
If you're good enough

Just go back to your main and get good, MMR will come later
You'd be spending way more time trying to get new MMR which isn't gonna guarantee you higher MMR than your main
You'll spend like 200 hours
Think how many games you could've won if you spend 200 hours playing on your main, learning and abusing the idiotic 2k mindset? Or you can just be a stubborn person who can't accept that you're bad and deserves your current MMR and keep trying to recalibrate to no avail forever

i have no idea what you're talking about, i can create an account of any skill level NS-HS-VHS

the speed at which your unranked mmr changes depends on the amount of games and your score

aka for the first 10 games, you can go from a starting mmr of literally 1 and get to 5-6k unranked avg

Ya that ip thing is not true for sure. i can prove. My brother and i had created an account ,played and learned on that account. it calibrated at 900.
After learning enough we made separate accounts. He calibrated mid 3k and im a 2k. :/
so it doesnt work.

cookie is right but if you are 5k you will start at at least 4k, if you are 1k you will start 1k.

not the calibration but the average mmr you start smurfs on is based on your other account mmr.

the starting mmr for the calibration process is determined by your unranked mmr

and you can go up/down +-500 per game from my experiments during calibration(i've heard some people went up/down by 1k, but no proof).
