techies was the most fun hero, each kill you got was like a hard hook with pudge, now it is pretty shity, the early game is bad, the mid game is meh, but ont only if he has farm, and the late there is nothing than to def.
Techies is super fun, it makes the game so different.
He was loads of fun when he first came out and then patches after that, but the huge nerf made him annoyingly helpless : (
He is good for giving a lot of free vision though. If only his ult had no timer with aghs, and the sign is a free ward or something instead of the True Invis thing
just give his main mines a 50% buff, so it is not the same as before but they are stronger
Yesssss that would make him playable again! I tried playing him a few times and it is just not the same. The games are so dreadfully terrible too. My recent techies losses I feel is entirely my fault since I didn't have much impact and he's super ez to counter.
I tried planting mines everywhere, laning more, and mine-group planting.
The type of playstyle that had the most effect was picking a lane, staying in lane. Pulling and planting mines around my lane.
Planting mines everywhere kind of helped since my team had a lot of vision.
And playing techies the way he was played when he first came out failed terribly.
The land mines are super weak nonetheless. I agree with you there.

I just get sad when heroes with arcana sets become unplayable :(
He is still somewhat playable. The main issue is that there are better offlaners this patch, and this meta is twice as tanky as before

Consider that, even though the mines' damage was weakened, their limit was removed and their mana cost was reduced which is very good, I think.
Yeah, still despite the mines being unlimited... techies is still not very game impacting.
I'm trying to find effective ways to play him in unranked, but haven't had the chance lately
