no it's like golf, the lower the better.
like if you finish the game with 400 actions it's worse than if you finished with only 8 actions..
common sense
I don't see the common sense in it that way honestly.
Isn't it a factor of interacting in game, buying wards counts toward an action etc?
When I'm at work and the boss asks me to do something, that something I can do in 69 steps or 13 steps. If it takes me 69 steps to get to the same end result (barring any difference in laziness or quality of performance), it can be seen as much more inefficient than doing it in 16 steps.
But yeah I'm not sure if wards count, I'm not really sure about anything I've said so far.. I don't even work.
It's APM, not ARP.
Anyway, it calculates how many actions you make in a minute. castings spells or just clicking. If you are using autoclicker #Diablostyle #Hold_to_move you will automaticly get an absurd amount of APM, which in theory: is fake APM.
Anyway, how much APM you have is irrelevant when you get over a certain point.
I'd say a point between 100-120 would be normal. Anyway it doesn't really matter. It's more about what you're used to and how your body works. Tho I'm saying if you have 60 APM or lower I'd say you have some issues.
Thanks for clarifying back ' alive, appreciate it.
If anyone has other input, he is welcome to share it
If you have low APM you are either standing AFK as a support or not moving efficiently on the map.
Lower Effective APM = Worse player.
Higher Effective APM = Better player.
The higher your (effective) APM is, the better you are.

.. But it's near impossible to measure what is "effective" APM. So really, this stat is worthless.
No I usually have the highest APM but i was starting to think it was bad, I'm around 150 more or less
Thanks Marlan for your input
It's also hero dependent. There's no way a Dazzle has same APM as a Tinker/Invoker. (Considering same player)
And effective APM was a nice input. I've watched irl friends at LAN just clicking as fast as possible and think they're good cause of it.
When watching other ppl play I often see them frantically clicking on the same fucking spot over and over to increase the APM.
Thing is, that's utterly pointless and can even decrease your performance because you're drawing attention away from things that are actually important.
isnt it? go use dota_player_auto_repeat_right_mouse 1 and just hold right click ur apm will be like 1000
@allison
afair back in the days lawliepop posted that spamclick is not counted as part of apm displayed on dbuff, but my memory may fail me
Nop, spamclicking does increase APM. If they believe otherwise, they are wrong. This means they have some shit to fix ^_*
i remember sm1 made a thread on dotabuff asking why pros have such high apm in competitive games or something, and they use that command. honestly idk how they can play with it im not sure but i think it messes up with ur orb walking sometimes. i use it only to steal bounty runes from my mids at the start of the game 4Head
@allison
today in the morning i woke up with the thought that i gotta find the way to use autoclicker for first bounty runes (no kappa), so how do I use this crap properly?
dota_player_auto_repeat_right_mouse 1 in console and hold right click on the rune spawn, then dota_player_auto_repeat_right_mouse 0 if u dont want it anymore
there is also a script to take runes (it does it instantly as they spawn) but doesnt work on reborn
i remember when i had dotabuff + i had games where i had 70 apm and games where i had 230 apm.
is this normal
just pick tinker and build 5 items with actives then you can jerk off about having 400 apm
It's not about jerking off, its about understanding the stat, if its useful or not to improve.
From what I read its not that important, and that was what i wanted to find out

Actions per minute
what is this stat exactly showing inside dotabuff plus?
Anyone willing to clarify? The higher the better? Does it matter at all?
