Isn't the problem this game's requirements are so low that underdeveloped countries flock to it?

nope, dota is just the best game, thats why they flock to it!

I think I'm the only peruvian here...so, here it goes!

First of all, lots and lots of education issues. Decent schools are expensive enough that their costs are actually prohibitive for many people. So, lots of parents are forced to send their children to cheaper schools, most of which are forgotten by the government (education in general is forgotten by the government, it's no coincidence that the best schools/universities/anything are all privately funded).

Culture is another problem, although this is caused by the educational issues above mentioned. Family can be, and several times is, also a factor. So, with that you have a lot of angry children and teenagers.

Why do you find them in your online games then? Several cheap Internet joints (not really cafés) almost everywhere, where you can play by paying 1 Sol (about a third of a dollar) per hour. Really affordable, specially by young people with not much to do. In these LANs everyone flames each other and nobody gives a fuck, but sometimes they also play online and bring those flames to the game.

Oh, the crime rates are also ridiculously high and are still on the rise, so not trusting anyone is basically ingrained in our DNAs.

Then again, it IS also customary to trash talk your friends when playing anything around here, but you HAVE to be a peruvian (or probably just latino) to distinguish between friendly "I'm-not-serious-just-fooling-around-flames" from flaming flames. Hope that helps.

I am not even from a developed world, its actually Romania , eastern european country, part of the SU for a while, than lead by dictator Nicolae Ceausescu till 1989 when he was killed due to the romanian revolution. So I bet my country is in developing status.

And thus, free education was a thing which started in 1850 here so yeah. And I dont know much about southern america countries lel

Anyway, if peru looks like brazil in any way ( and i bet that its worst ) IF there is any public school there is going to be so AWFUL that there would be almost no difference between public education and no education.

lol Zano. thanks for the post by the way :) I've met some really good, cooperative team mates in pubs that were peruvian, and also pretty friendly and polite, but the majority of the time peruvian players just seem sooooooooo angry at everyone. Your post definitely gave some insight into that. Cheers!
