@ywn at my uni we gotta choose some other courses to get insight on what its like working urself into a new area (something u'll probably face a lot in ur job)
ill choose chem/biology so i can do PogChamp stuff like sequence analysis, gene/protein analysis etc
otherwise i could choose something like mech engineering/electrical engineering/maths/business but all of them seem either too hard or very dansgame
even if we had them(we often do have hella helpful manuals though) the issue isn't that i don't understand the material or the amount of new material is too much
the issue is that the practical tasks are so bloated(and often contrived) it's really hard to keep up with the schedule, apart from everything else we need to get a total of 38 assignments done this semester(discounting tests and special assignments - which are usually even bigger), and the time i need to complete it is anywhere between 2(if it's VERY EASY) to 20 hours, and the average is about 8-10 hours, like u can easily sink an entire day dedicated to doing one assignment and not even get it done, and i have an easier time than most people because i can use english segment of google(which is about 10 times more useful than most russian sources) freely and i'm smarter than most people in my group. i can't imagine how do they expect an average student to keep up with all this shit.
when you join a party, they search captains draft (theres an ancient 3 it will be fine) and then some legend 1 dude first phase picks rubick lion followed by pheonix and you just want to abandon :)
