Honestly, I think the game is a bit of a waste, it's just a psychological-horror visual novel. I think it had the chance to explore those characters much more. To create a really deep game
Sayori's case is specifically horrifyingly real, that depiction of depression and masking it, in such an adult and realistic way. The feeling that you're mere existence is a burdrn to other, that you are not worthy their worries. All this while hiding your depression to make them worry about you, to make them think you're ok. As someone with a past of multiple suicide attempts. This is way too real for a game.
The first poet about bottling feelings, that was the most powerful
Also the other side characters, yuri, with her social isolation, which caused her to develop questionable habits, while also developing a strong unhealthy dependence on the one guy who shows sympathy towards her. It's played down for the "yandere" trope, but yet that's a very real subject to develop
And also natsuki, which didn't get nearly enough screen time, the subject of disapproval from the guardian figures, which pathed into abusement, causing a very low self esteem of the person, which is shown by her constantly comparing herself and her "childish" writing style to the "sophisticated" style of yuri. This is a subject especially common in the LGBT community, and wasn't developed nearly enough in the story

i suggest watching videos with listed easter eggs and other variations since there's a decent amount of variations and hidden things inside the game files
also about the characters, that's what the game wants you to believe from the first act - basically you're asking for a different game
but based on the first act, if you'd really want a game like that, then it would be mediocre at best because the characters seem rather generic until monika starts to mess with them

Honestly, I think the game is a bit of a waste, it's just a psychological-horror visual novel. I think it had the chance to explore those characters much more. To create a really deep game
Sayori's case is specifically horrifyingly real, that depiction of depression and masking it, in such an adult and realistic way. The feeling that you're mere existence is a burdrn to other, that you are not worthy their worries. All this while hiding your depression to make them worry about you, to make them think you're ok. As someone with a past of multiple suicide attempts. This is way too real for a game.

Also the other side characters, yuri, with her social isolation, which caused her to develop questionable habits, while also developing a strong unhealthy dependence on the one guy who shows sympathy towards her. It's played down for the "yandere" trope, but yet that's a very real subject to develop
And also natsuki, which didn't get nearly enough screen time, the subject of disapproval from the guardian figures, which pathed into abusement, causing a very low self esteem of the person, which is shown by her constantly comparing herself and her "childish" writing style to the "sophisticated" style of yuri. This is a subject especially common in the LGBT community, and wasn't developed nearly enough in the story

i suggest watching videos with listed easter eggs and other variations since there's a decent amount of variations and hidden things inside the game files
also about the characters, that's what the game wants you to believe from the first act - basically you're asking for a different game
but based on the first act, if you'd really want a game like that, then it would be mediocre at best because the characters seem rather generic until monika starts to mess with them
