i normally go qb + stout +tango +2 pooled tango > PMS > OoV > PT > drums > yasha > skadi > basher > manta/SnY > abyssal.
i prefer to be able to stand around and man fight people and stack that agi rather than having an escape mech, if you cant juke with ult and 7 sec cd pounce and purge youre doing it wrong. however SB is viable vs a bloodseeker imo but still i think theres better items. orchid also works pretty well with sb if you choose that path cause ez 1v1 pickoffs.
shadowblade vs teams who need late game
stats vs teams who can actually fight well in the mid game
the reason behind this is because shadowblade lets you snag alot more kills when people have to spit up to farm BUT if they start 5manning early that shadowblade will just be a useless item.
^What he said
If you get Shadowblade, only do it if you can get it VERY early and if you will actually manage to get a lot of kills with it
If you don't have a 100% valid reason to go SB, go something like Boots > OoV > Treads > Drums > Yasha > Basher/Skadi/BKB/whatever
OoV contrary to popular believe is not needed, almost useless for laning stage, and if instead of drum yasha you go sy, you also don't need it, while saving a lot of slot in your inventory
shadowblade core vs retards and poorly coordinated teams
if players are good and sticking as 5 with healing spells or aoe nukes/stuns u will get rekd
but i find shadowblade more usefull than any other in the game (blink is good too but it gives no other stats)
sange and yasha 4100
304 bonus health
no invis
no bonus attack
16% movement speed
32 damage
32 attack speed
shadow blade 3000
no bonus health
invis
150 bonus attack
20% movement speed
22 damage
30 atk speed
I prefer shadow blade
Uh that's a pretty slanted review of both, you're ignoring the proc on s&y and shadowblade 20% movement is only when it's active.
As a side question is orchid pretty much dead on slark now?
orchid is picked up for specific heroes (puck, storm etc) who will just ignore all your skills with their mobility.
orchid is only working if you are stomping, otherwise, hex is waaay more effective.
Yfay, the point of sy, is also to run both quickly in and out, which is then more flexible than sb, that can only do it once, but is ofc far superior to sy at the moment you choose to use it.
Thought my preference always went to sy, cause i find too valuable on slark to go in and out several time per fight, which is what sy excell at
the wondrous thing about SB on slark is the fact that the other team most likely can't afford to put sentries down at every single one of their obs ward locations
thus, allowing u to actually heal when you're walking through common ward spots
i pick up OoV --> Treads --> Yasha --> PBooster--> SB --> BKB --> SNY --> Skadi --> Situational: Orchid, Heart, Basher, Bfly, MKB, etc...
almost never go tarasque, skady give muuuuuuuuch more tanking power than tarasque, and if it's magic that is a problem, you have bkb then.
you can also, but that's not extremly effective, make the brain eater build, tarasque sy skady cuirasse + bash, or how to say, go to fuck, i will eat your stats slowly but you will never kill me ^^
i wouldnt say orchid is useless, slark benefits from attack speed due to his essence, hex is great too but the lack of attack speed turns it down
Shadowblade is the worst thing you can build on any hero after vanguard ofc.
I rather have 4 snipers on my team than 4 people who buy sb/vanguard

Usually I see people going shadow blade first for the amazing pickoff power and escape with your free dust purge. However, I've recently been experimenting with going manta or yasha + skadi first. Hp pool really helps Slark's ability to stick around in large scale fights and rack up damage with his low cd nukes.
Shadow blade core? Only viable against morons? Or should I go some intermediate build like drums-lothars.
