mid is always better, and fury is always good, no need to stack, 1 fury and rest burizas
There are few heroes that you really shouldnt lane on mid, especialy voker and storm. They will shut you down easily, if played smart.
On the other hand, go safelane, if you are only carry in team
The thing with mid ember is that he suffers against range heroes.
Viper and OD makes him cry.
If i am not mistaken there is a math behind saying that 3 bfury does more damage, 3 bfury + daedalus
I am not sure but probably, i mean ember cant even come close to the creeps against viper, i think.

if he uses sleight on viper, he will take the corrosive skin damage after landing on the ground, but not while slashing around.
Well i seriously dont know what he could do against OD or Viper.

Even against a really unfavorable matchup like storm or viper, you can score a kill if supports rotate and when you hit level 7 they will be completely zoned out of the lane.
That being said, if I see viper picked I'll usually head safelane so that my team can send somebody mid who will get cs.
I prefer to play ember at mid, bottle is amazing on ember. 1 battlefury is fine, I only go for 2 battlefuries if it is a safe lane ember game just for that big more regen that you won't have from lack of a bottle (assuming your midder gets a bottle instead). Then onto a daedalus (or MKB depending on the situation, or linkin's if there's a Doom or something similar and you can't avoid him in the team fights from the ult). Then have fun.
there are 2 popular item builds for ember
general item build: phase -> drums -> desolator -> daedalus -> daedalus
against mass unit enemy team: phase -> battlefury -> battlefury -> daedalus -> daedalus -> battlefury
situationals like MKB fit anywhere along the build after the first big item (deso/bfury)
many players like BoT instead of phase, which is great too because it lets him freely abuse his ulti for regen and returning to wherever he was very quickly

I've seen him played in both. I personally think mid is better for Ember due to his natural ability to gank, his great rune control, and the fact he can shut down any other melee mid hero he's against. But people are telling me that I'm wrong and that he should safelane farm away from the team and stack battlefuries (although in my opinion stacking daedalus's would be more handy). It would seem that his early kill potential is wasted by sitting in the safelane farming.
TL;DR : Is Ember Spirit better in mid or safelane?
