I would say yes if you got safe lane farm, and it doesn't hinder you from hitting dominator/bkb.
hotd and stack an additional spot, if support are stacking ancient, then stack wood with it -there is always a big spot close to your base, far from lane-, it will still give you more gold and exp than midas.
It will also give you more sustain, more tanking power, and stronger flak canon, not to mention that anyway you will do dominator for satanic, so it's not lose gold, while midas will be, since it's pretty easy to farm full slot on gyro.
I don't see the point of getting one given that he has Flak Cannon. Better to build a HotD, dominate a creep and stack camps to flash farm, no?
if youre complete freefarm and their carry has a midas i tend to go midas aswell + stack camps since that way youre 100% sure youre gonna win late game if youre not dumb enough to throw away your farm.
I'm not really a fan of late game plays. Too many chances to throw IMHO. Gyro's an absolute wrecking ball in the mid game with a BKB. If the enemy carry has opted for a Midas, he's probably of not much use around the 15 minute mark, so it'd be a good idea to 5-man push and end it before he has the chance to catch up.
Just my 2 cents.
thats true
but if you fail mid game and you have no midas and their carry has 1 chances are youre gonna lose the late game.
wow man, you have convinced me because you have 1 random replay where it probably didnt even matter what you bought..
its a shit item because not only does he not benefit from the extra levels (that much) and the extra AS, but he is an incredibly vulnerable hero until he gets some items going.
Even an item like HotD provides him with some armor and enough sustain to keep himself at full HP while moving around, otherwise items like BKB, or even just the ogres club by itself is enough, if not drums or something.
Gyro is generally a better hero in the midgame, throwing that away for a little more farm is pointless when there's carries that can do that better.
Food for thought:
The objective of the game is to destroy the enemy's ancient. As a carry, your primary objective is to provide sufficient DPS in a teamfight, preferably before your opposite number is capable of doing so. Carries aren't starved for last hits, so the main incentive for getting a Midas on a carry should be the exp gain. Alchemist for example, commonly gets a Midas because the regen from his ultimate at level 16 can be a major factor in winning a teamfight. Personally, I don't see Gyro's level 16 ultimate a good enough reason to pick up a Midas. You want Call Down for the slow that goes through magic immunity, not it's pitiful magic damage which can be easily negated. The idea of sitting back to 6-slot a carry before pushing has never, and will never make sense to me. It's like putting all your eggs in one basket, too much can go wrong.
depends on how quickly you want to start fighting with your team. if its a game of who can farm faster, obviously yes. generally i would say no to midas on gyro because he NEEDS to activate ASAP (bkb, hotd).
dont get HoM just go Helm of Dominator and stack jungle / ancients you get more farm and gold and you can help your team faster without causing any delay in your farm
If you get it min 3 or 4 it's ok, but later if you don't have supports mass stacking ancients - domi is probably the way to go
Some times it's OK but it's never "good". Your stomach will tell you when it's OK to get one ;)
