Most likely he lied. There is no way to see DBR anymore and even if there were its over 9 months out of date and almost completely irrelevant at this point.
There is still a competition using the old DBR scores for the top50 of each hero. You need to have Dotabuff Plus to see that, but there is no one on those lists with only 52% winrates. From time to time some troll will post something pretending to know how to get your DBR. Don't believe it unless/until Jason comes around and says he has introduced a totally new DBR schema.

I was in a game a few days ago and some guy was raging at me saying he was such a high ranking on dotabuff and that I was ranked somewhere over 1k, I viewed his dotabuff profile to find that he only had a 52% W/L ratio so I dont see how he was so much better than me, but I am inquisitive to find out how to view a players ranking. Thanks in advanced
