Atleast you understand what they say.
Here in europe, not only we dont understand what russians say, but we have to deal with them spamming their bullshit in english servers
Usually you don't understand a word an idiot is typing on the internet. In dota you won't understand a letter.
Its just New York City, the state as a whole is quite normal...and of course there are normal people in NYC as well, its just an unusually low %. I think this is because of their trends in government and culture over the last several decades going hard into humanistic relativism. I've only been to NYC twice, but everyone I met was sullen, crude and paranoid.
If you look people in the eye or smile they think you are trying to scam them somehow and get suspicious and angry.
This has nothing to do with NYC,
it's all over the world
anyway, funny these people, I just laugh at them
If a guy on American servers play like shit, if he says hes from New York, if he says hes from Europe, he is in fact from mother Russia but is just scared to admit. If a guy says "i'm from Russia" its totally the same thing as saying "I suck at Dota, and i came here to ruin your game"
Just ban all russians from Dota. Problem solved.
^ this many russians just pretend to be from other countries type jebem ti matter or idi na xuy and look at those 'non' russians go bat shit crazy on team chat in rus
Did you ever play Spider-Man Web of Shadows? Then you will see what the hell is happening in New York.

It seems that every time I run into some crazy, pretentious angry person, they're from New York. The kind of people who backseat mine and everyone else's game constantly, "What are you doing!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? OH MY GOD! NO, YOU IDIOT." Commentating like they have any right to judge anything anyone does in Dota 2, and any right to judge anyone's character and person. They blame, they rage, and they pretend they sound smart and reasonable - like nothing they're doing is wrong, because they're right about the game! Like any action they make in the game is excusing their negative, egotistical, and downright rude behavior.
The kind of people who elect themselves "CAPTAIN OF THE PUB GAME", and lord over everyone else.
If I call them on their bullshit, they pull out the same ol' thing: "no you're wrong because of this, this, and this! Go watch the replay!" As if other people aren't capable of knowing what's happening moment to moment, or look back over the course of the game in retrospect. Try to explain to them that they're point is relative, and there's a bigger picture beyond what they're observing, and they''ll call me an idiot.
So I'll ask them to prove it. Prove anything they're saying ss true. That anything that I'm saying is wrong. They'll tell you to "play the game correctly, idiot, and go watch some replays!" or, even better, "oh my god, I have to mute you!" Then, once muted, say to the rest of the team, and for the benefit of the muted person, "Gosh, that guy was such a retard!"
Yes, because the best they can do is put their fingers in their ears and go, "Lalalalala, I'm not listening."
They never talk tactics. They never talk meta. They never talk about anything but what they're small, frustrated mind can grasp, which must just go something like, "GRRRR! WE'RE LOSING BECAUSE EVERYONE IS IDIOTS! I'M PERFECT BECAUSE I WATCH PROS!"
If you ever play with this guy: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Luxer_/
Prepare for a lot of nasally crying if he thinks for even a second that you're not on his level.

Prepare for a pretentious douchebag who acts like he's some refined scholar, while everyone else in the country are pig farmers.
Is New York really this stereotypical?
