Bought DotabuffPlus, but my trend graph isn't right in General Discussion

    Hi there,

So I bought my DotabuffPlus thing and when I select All-Time as my time window for Win Rate, it doesn't match up with the given % on my profile page.

Right now, it's about 46.2%-ish on the profile page, but the trend graph shows something closer to 46.8% or so.

    What gives?

      Congratulations on being conned.

      Why So Serious ?

          ...

Also, is it normal for the numbers in our profile page (Wins and Losses) not to match up with what the game says?

The percentages are rounded to the nearest whole number. So all the lines labeled 46% are really 45.5% through 46.4%. As for your second question, yes that's normal. The client's win-loss numbers don't count "abandoned" games that are shorter than 20 minutes (or something like that). Dotabuff doesn't have a way of knowing if a game is abandoned, so it'll count anything longer than 10 minutes (or something like that).

The win rate line graph is normalized and double filtered against your win rate over the selected period of time. The graph should be focused on your average win rate, the line will deviate slightly based on the number of games, period of time, etc. This was a design decision we made so that your win rate graph would be meaningful (in showing your personal progress) regardless of the scope of time or other filters you applied to the graph.

Your Dotabuff W/L may differ from in-game because of the way abandons/"stats not recorded" games are counted. The API doesn't provide sufficient information to know whether you received a W/L/A, so we have to make an educated guess on a game-by-game basis. It's well over 99% accurate but differences will occur. We're hoping Valve will add this information to the API, at which point we'll go back and reconcile all data.

Thank you so much for the explanation - it makes a lot more sense now.

I just wanted to say that I really like having a website like this. It really well visualizes my progress toward getting better.

I also encourage everyone reading this to do the Dotabuff+ thing. The graphs that they give you, in my opinion, are pretty helpful and it really puts the shitty games where I lose into perspective well. Helps me not lose my shit when I have a bad game.

when u buy plus, it means u're supporting dotabuff on what they do and how they're trying to improve. getting conned is a wrong term to use.

when u buy plus, u voluntarily help dotabuff improve.

only retards who are feature whores say u get conned if u buy plus.
