Its probably because tower kill takes less time then suicide , but i havent made sure of this nor calculated this . U can try in lobby . I did that as sky and worked surprisingly .
It doesn't give everyone on the enemy team 100+ gold, that's a display bug. The 120gold or whatever it is, is split between the 5 heroes. Giving 25 gold per hero is a worthwhile payment to save time when you are losing experience/gold and the enemy is basically freefarming because you aren't pressuring.
I watched a pro not too long ago, supposedly the best pudge and he would say to die to enemy tower to tp back to lane... Why not just use rot to deny yourself? why give everyone on the enemy team 100+ gold?
You need to expand on your game knowledge, only 1 thing is important in dota, efficiency, if you are more efficient than opponents you will outfarm them and win the game. Yes when you die you give them gold, but amount is negligible what is more important you deny them exp and coming back with full HP and mana while they have to spend their gold on regen to sustain in the lane, who profits here?
Also if you are offlaner and enemy carry + support are wasting 1 minute of their time in the lane by chasing you and eventually kill you and take 180g for your kill but missing 2 waves of creeps, who really won here? Two waves of creeps is approximately 450g! So anyone prioritizing kills over farm early in the game is dumb, this is one of the reason why roaming is dead and lanning is very important.

There has to be something else about the tower kill other than "it happens faster", because walking would offset that greatly.
Probably because your enemy would try to contest your suicide when nearby, but won't find it worth their time to chase you to the tower.

Rotting from full HP is bad, yes. If you're trying to suicide due to having used up all your mana - go for tower.
Suiciding after an encounter however (let's say 50% or less hp left), rot seems like the way to go.
Take care to not go for tier 2 while an opponent is walking back to the lane, though. Check respawn times.

it's all about the suicide death timer nerf. past level 5 or whatever just rot+neutrals is fine, but you'd also be much less likely to want to suicide at that point
rotting is wasting time dude.. u may have lost a whole creep wave of EXP
